CEREMONIAL CACAO PASTE - 'JABA'

£50.00

This 100% Heirloom Ceremonial Cacao paste (500gr) is sourced directly from a Kogui community in Colombia.

Our ‘Jaba’ variety (meaning Mother Earth) is organically grown in the sacred lands of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta following the perfect rhythms of nature. It is hand harvested, fermented, sun dried, roasted on wood fire, peeled and ground with care, to preserve all its nutritional value. It carries the prayers and blessings of the ‘Mamos’ (Indigenous Kogui spiritual leaders) and intention of the community that grows the Cacao trees.

The Kogui are one of the four remaining Indigenous peoples who live in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (The heart of the world). Through their work as “The Guardians of the Earth” their purpose in life is to care for her and to keep the balance & harmony of the world through sacred sites located across the Sierra Nevada, which act as sites of balance for the rest of the world.

They were moved out of their ancestral lands since colonisation and have only recently been able to recover some of this territory where they traditionally grow this Cacao.
